What is a Christian?

Someone is not a Christian just because they go to church. Someone is not a Christian just because they read the Bible or say prayers. Someone is not a Christian just because they believe Jesus and God exist. Someone is not a Christian because they have been baptised, or because they take communion. Someone is not a Christian because they live in a so called Christian country.

Someone only is a Christian if they have been born again by the Holy Spirit of God, brought to saving faith in Jesus Christ and have repented of their sin.

Saving faith is someone receiving and resting on Christ alone for salvation, trusting in His death to save them from their sin.

To repent is to come to have hatred for your sin and to turn away from it and to turn to Christ to follow Him as your Lord in a life of new obedience.

It is absolutely crucial that you are a true Christian because only they will go to heaven after death. All other people go to hell forever.

Jesus is a loving Saviour who calls you to come to Him today in faith and repentance so that you will know forgiveness for your sin and a new and eternal life in Him.
