Apologies, but we couldn't display this passage from ESV.org.
Please read 1 Corinthians 11.

Paul turns now to how church members behave as they come together. The first issue is of head-coverings which Paul taught women should wear as a mark of the headship of men (v2-16). Is what Paul teaching here due to the cultural situation of that time and therefore a requirement just for that time, or is the matter of women wearing head-coverings to be applied to today?

Personally, as this is the only place head-coverings are spoken about in the New Testament I think it was a requirement just for that time in Corinth. What we do need to take from this is the creation ordinance of the headship of men over women in the home and in the church. Also, we need to be careful not to unnecessarily offend others by not fitting into the cultural ways around us, unless of course the cultural ways are contrary to God’s word.

Paul then deals with the Lord’s Supper and calls for believers to be thoughtful of others when they come together to remember the Lord’s death (v17-22). Paul then turns to the importance of understanding how the Lord’s Supper points to Jesus’ death and the need to take the Lord’s Supper thoughtfully and with self-examination (v23-34). We must be serious about Jesus’ death.
