Apologies, but we couldn't display this passage from ESV.org. Please read Titus 3
Teaching by Rev. William Moody
Paul reminds Titus to teach about the characteristics which should be evident in the believer’s life (v1-2). The believer should be obedient to authorities, hardworking, careful with their tongue, gentle and courteous. Pray about which of these traits you need to work on.
Sinful, disobedient and hateful living belongs to the old life and not the new life the believer has (v3). It is knowing who they are and what has happened to them, which should motivate the believer to live this new life in Christ (v4-7).
The undeserved mercy of God in Christ should create a totally different attitude in the believer’s life (v4-5). Thankfulness to God should be reshaping our lives. Are you a person who understands mercy, who has expereienced mercy and is therefore so thankful for God’s mercy?
It is also an awareness that in Christ, we’re something new through regeneration, that causes us to realise we must walk in a different way (v5). The believer has been made new inside and this inward change must impact every part of our lives.
Take time to pray about if the Gospel has changed and is continuing to change you day by day. The Gospels saves and sanctifies.
