Apologies, but we couldn't display this passage from ESV.org. Please read Habakkuk 3v17-19
Teaching by Rev. William Moody
So far we have seen from this prayer that crucial element sin praying are:- a. humility, b. worship, c. petition and d. meditation. Now we come to the final element which is e. faith (v17-19).
We have here one of the greatest statements of faith in the bible (v17-18). This statement of faith comes from meditating on the actions of God in the past so that His greatness was so real to Habakkuk in his present day.
The ‘high places’ were places of pagan worship and this phrase speaks of the Lord’s victory over pagan deities. It also speaks of God’s people knowing victory over their enemies.
We fight not against physical enemies who are flesh and blood, we fight against the spiritual forces of the devil (Ephesians 6 v12). Victory happens through faith as we grow with a similar faith to Habakkuk. Faith grows as we rest in God and meditate on His truth about who He is and what He has done.
Read again verses 17-19 and ask if in your soul do you echo the faith of Habakkuk? Pray to God about this and seek His grace for this to be true.
