Daily Bible Reading Tuesday 4th November 2025

Apologies, but we couldn't display this passage from ESV.org. Please read Revelation 4

Teaching by Rev. William Moody

Today our focus is on the Inhabitants of Heaven which begins with the twenty-four elders (v4). They represent all the people of God both in the Old and New Testaments as they speak of the 12 patriarchs of the 12 tribes of Israel plus the 12 apostles. Being dressed in white speaks of purity and cleansing received through the sacrifice of Jesus.

The 24 elders on thrones speaks of them being given authority to rule. Paul says If we endure, we shall also reign with Him.” (2 Timothy 2v12).

Next, we see the four living creatures (v6-8), angelic beings, each had six wings and one is like a lion, one an ox, one like a man and one an eagle.

A Jewish saying stated, “The mightiest among the birds is the eagle, the mightiest among the domestic animals is the bull, the mightiest among the wild beasts is the lion, and the mightiest among all is man.”

So, we have here the best and the strongest of creation giving the Lord praise that is due to Him. This world was made for God to receive the praise He deserves. It is only in accepting this that we find real purpose to life.
