Apologies, but we couldn't display this passage from ESV.org. Please read Acts 3

Teaching by Rev. William Moody

When a crowd gather around Peter and John, after the healing of the lame beggar (v11), Peter is quick to give the glory to Jesus (v12-16). Peter teaches that faith in Jesus is no new religion, but true Old Testament religion as the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob raised Jesus from the dead (v13).

Peter also points out their guilt in rejecting and killing Jesus (v13-14).People need to be confronted with their sin to know God’s blessing. We see here how sin is something very personal as it is against Jesus who is so glorious, the Jesus who raised up this lame beggar to new life (v15-16).

Peter now calls for repentance from these people (v17-23). They must have a change of heart about Jesus and about their sin. Peter teaches that this Jesus will come again (v20-21). Jesus was the great prophet who was to come (v22; Deut. 18 v18-19) and failure to trust in Jesus will mean being cut off (v23).

Jesus is the fulfilment of their religion and all the prophets pointed forward to Him (v24). True religion is all about Jesus, trusting, knowing and obeying Him. Is your religion all about Jesus? Do you know Jesus and are you getting to know Him better day by day? Pray about this.
