Apologies, but we couldn't display this passage from ESV.org. Please read Leviticus 2-3

Teaching by Rev. William Moody

The grain offering (ch. 2), which is made very fine flour points to the perfectly consistent life of Christ. It was this perfect life that meant Jesus’ sacrifice for sin was perfect and therefore accepted. The absence of honey and leaven (v11) speaks of how there was no sin in Jesus’ life.

The presence of the oil and frankincense (v2) speaks of how Jesus’ life was filled with the Holy Spirit and lived as an offering to God.

The priests feed on part of this offering (v3, 10). The Christian lives feeding on the living Christ so that His consistency would become part of our life.

The peace offering (ch. 3) is placed on top of the burnt offering (v5) which speaks of how there are different dimensions to the sacrifice of Jesus. The Gospel is simple in that Jesus dies for the sin of His people but there is also a depth to what Jesus has done through the cross that we must go deep into.

One of the great purposes of the cross is peace which is spoken of this offering. Jesus through the cross brings us into a position of peace with God. Prior to embracing the cross we have hostility with God. God’’ wrath burns towards sin and the cross alone replaces that hostility with peace.
