Apologies, but we couldn't display this passage from ESV.org. Please read Leviticus 5
Teaching by Rev. William Moody
As we continue to consider the sin offering the chapter deals first with things that can contaminate people (v1-6). We need to be careful for sin will be a constant invader in our lives and needs the ongoing cleansing of the cross.
There is provision made here for the poor to offer two turtledoves or pigeons instead of a lamb or bull (v7-13), and even fine flour if they can’t afford the birds. All this speaks of how the way to salvation in cleansing is open to all, the rich and the poor. All can come to Jesus for cleansing.
The final part of this chapter (v14-19) deals with the guilt offering which deals with the guilt of sins committed. There is an emphasis here on compensation being made to the Lord (v15).
We need to understand that sin is something that is very personal against God. Sin is disobedience and rebellion against the Lord; it is a failure to trust God. Take time to confess your sin before the Lord remembering its personal nature against Him and how the blood of Jesus alone can satisfy.
