Believers are to imitate God (v1), walk in love (v2), avoid all hints of immorality, impurity, covetousness (v3) filthiness, foolish talk and crude joking (v4).

Look at the list of sins above and consider where you may find guilt in your own life. Confess this before the Lord.

These sins are not to be treated lightly as those who practice them will not inherit the kingdom of God (v5-6). No repentance will mean no heaven.

Paul makes a big contrast between the ways of darkness and of light (v7-14).

In the world around us today there is so much spiritual and moral darkness. We need to reject such darkness and seek the light that is to be found in Christ. If we continue in the ways of darkness we’re like sleepers or the spiritually dead who need to awake or arise (v14).

We can’t be complacent as we live in very evil days (v15-16)
