Apologies, but we couldn't display this passage from ESV.org. Please read Psalm 25
Teaching by Rev. William Moody
David is praying for God to help him not be defeated by his enemies (v1-3). He has great confidence that those who look to the Lord will not be ashamed but will know God’s gracious intervention.
We all have enemies who want to overcome us (see Ephesians 6 v12). It is only in God’s strength that we can know this victory. Are you trusting in the Lord for this?
David has a great desire to be guided into God’s paths (v4-5) because he delights in the Lord. David is also confident that the Lord’s paths are marked with steadfast love and faithfulness (v8-10). For David obedience was centred on His knowledge of the Lord, who He is and what He does.
David knew his own sinfulness and he rest not in his own goodness but on the forgiving and steadfast love of the Lord (v6-7). That was his rock, in that was he anchored.
God pardons because of who God is and to reveal His greatness (v11). The Lord’s Name is all the ways by which God makes Himself known.
