Apologies, but we couldn't display this passage from ESV.org. Please read Numbers 28

Teaching by Rev. William Moody

As the children of Israel prepare to enter the Promised Land, the priority is that their worship would be right. Here, there is direction for daily (v1-8), weekly (v9-10), monthly (v11-15) and annual worship (v16- 29 v40).

The worship of God has to be at the heart of all that His people do. It is one thing saying that, but God’s people need routine if it is going to be a reality.

Daily, there were to be offerings, both morning and evening (v3-6). Each Sabbath, there were to be extra offerings both morning and evening (v9-10). At the beginning of each month there were to be many extra offerings as well (v11-15). As we consider this we need to consider have we a daily, weekly and monthly plan for our worship so that our lives are devoted to God?

Daily do you have a time to meet with God? The morning and evening sacrifices, emphasise how worship of God should saturate our lives. How is your keeping of the Sabbath? Is it just one hour on a Sunday morning or is your day saturated with God?

Finally, we see here that worship of God, has to always come through sacrifices for sin. After the crucifixion of Jesus, we can only approach God by looking back in faith, to His once for all sacrifice for sin. That is what it means to pray or worship in Jesus’ name.
