Apologies, but we couldn't display this passage from ESV.org. Please read Romans 3
Teaching by Rev. William Moody
Paul’s teaching about sin (v1-20) was to prepare the people for what he now reveals to them about how they can be right with God without keeping the law of God (v21).
The only way is through faith in Christ (v22). This is the only way, as no one perfectly keeps the law, no-one reaches God’s standard (v23). Christ is our only hope but what a glorious hope.
Jesus saves by grace (v24), which means it is totally undeserving. He brings redemption (v24), which means to buy us freedom from our sin, but at a great price which is the shedding of His blood (v25).
Jesus is described as a propitiation, which means that by His death, He propels away God’s wrath from sinners. This is the only way God can be just (v26) and still forgive us for our sin. All sin had to be punished, so either we bear the sin ourselves or Christ bears it in our place.
In salvation Christ must have all the glory. It is all about what He has done and there is no room for our boasting. Having come to that point of faith in Him, the Christian must be filled with tremendous humility and thankfulness. Has this happened to you, that you have received salvation and it has produced in you this humility and thankfulness?
