Apologies, but we couldn't display this passage from ESV.org. Please read Isaiah 33
Teaching by Rev. William Moody
The coming invasion by Sennacherib the King of Assyria is spoken of here (v1). Isaiah is leading the people to pray to the Lord for deliverance (v2-4). This is a prayer of faith in the exalted, just, righteous, stable, abundantly wise and knowledgeable God (v5-6). The higher our view of God the stronger will be our faith as we pray.
No one can withstand the march of the Lord (v7-12). The Lord wants his people to acknowledge what He is like and ask who can stand in His presence (v13-14)? The answer is that only those who righteous can come into the Lord’s presence (v15-16). It is vital that we realise that a person who holds unto their sin, rather than on the salvation of the Lord can never enter in. To come into the Lord’s presence brings great reward (v17).
The Lord brings down the insolent who oppose God and His people (v19) and the people of God will be restored (v20-24). Here we reminded of the constant message of the Bible, there are two paths to walk, the path of the righteous and blessing, the path of sin and judgement.
