The Christmas Carol says, “Veiled in flesh, the Incarnate Deity.” Jesus’ divinity is hidden by His human form. But here for a few moments the glory of the Divine Christ breaks through (v1-2). Here is a brightness beyond the sun and His clothes brighter than light speak of a radiance out of this world.

Peter is beside himself as the glory before him was of such magnitude. Then the voice of God added to the sense of awe and fear that the disciples experienced (v5-6).

The challenge for us is to continue to have a great sense of awe and reverence before Christ. He is a man, the very best of men, but He is much more, He is Almighty God also. Pray about having proper reverence for Jesus.

As well the glory and splendour of Christ, we also see here His wonderful grace and tenderness (v7-8). It is only the intercession of Jesus that can enable us to come before glorious presence of our Holy God, and come with great confidence in His love and mercy.

Take time to speak to Jesus about the glory of His majesty and His grace. Pray that you in the days ahead will come to know the greatness of God and Christ more and more. But be warned knowing Christ will transform your life in many different ways.
