Apologies, but we couldn't display this passage from ESV.org. Please read Hebrews 6

Having just rebuked his readers for being slow to learn and only capable of taking spiritual baby food (5 v11-14), the writer now basically says he is going to persevere anyway in sharing the solid food with them (v1-2). As believers we need to be serious students of God’s word, wanting to grow in our understanding and our experience of Christ as He alone is the source of rest.

Verses 3-6 have been the source of much debate and controversy. In studying scripture, we must realise that it never contradicts itself and therefore this doesn’t mean those genuinely saved can ever be lost (see John 10 v28-30).

These verses are share in the context of warning of the danger of hardening our hearts to God’s word and falling away. They are written to warn us against being complacent and to seek real spiritual fruit in our lives (v7-8).

The writer is expecting much from these people (v9-12) and encourages them to be confident in the wonderful faithfulness and promises of the God who does not lie (v13-18), being anchored to Jesus His great high priest (v19-20).

Are you trusting in God’s promises and anchored firmly in Jesus?
