The beautiful story of the wedding at Cana (v1-12), shows how Jesus’ presence can bring such wonderful blessing. Jesus is the eternal Son of God and yet He loved to enter into the normal events of people’s lives (v1-2).

The running out of wine would have been an incident that would bring great shame to a wedding host (v3). Mary encourages Jesus to intervene (v4). For those who think a lot of Mary, her words in v5 are great words of advice, “Do whatever He tells you.”

The jars for purification are filled with water and then taken to the master of the feast (v6-8). This was a great step of faith from those involved. They trusted Jesus enough to obey.

When we trust Jesus He can wonderfully transform something into something special (v9-10).

We’re told here that through this miracle Jesus’ glory was revealed (v11). The miracles are signs which point us to something of the great worth of Jesus. Have you seen His worth?
