Apologies, but we couldn't display this passage from ESV.org.
Please read Ruth 2.
Ruth does not take Boaz’s kindness for granted and responds with humble thanksgiving (v10). In a day when so many demand their rights we should have an appreciative heart for all who help us.
What Boaz admires is Ruth’s commitment to her mother-in-law (v11) and his prayer for her is beautiful (v12).
Boaz’s kindness continues in sharing food with Ruth (v13-14) and in ordering his men to be generous (v15-16). Boaz here is a picture of Jesus in whom we receive ‘grace upon grace’ (John 1 v16). When we have grasped something of the generous heart of grace that is in Jesus we should show grace to others.
Naomi clearly sees the reality of grace working in Ruth’s life (v18-20).
When God’s kindness and grace are at work in anyone’s life it will be far more evident than we ever realise.
Ruth is encouraged not just to rest on what she has got but to be at the place where she will receive more and more blessing (v21-23).
When we have tasted that the Lord is good we need to be hungry for more and continuing to feed on the Lord will give us a greater and greater appetite for God. Is your appetite for God growing?
