Apologies, but we couldn't display this passage from ESV.org. Please read Exodus 25

Teaching by Rev. William Moody

As we re-join the children of Israel in the desert we come to a very significant event as plans for the tabernacle are revealed. This tent like structure for worship would be made totally through the gifts of God’s people (v1-7). This would only happen as the people were moved in their hearts to give in response to God’s word (v2).

Similarly the work of Christ’s kingdom today needs God’s people being moved in their hearts to give. God’s loves a cheerful giver and giving to the Lord’s work is one crucial way we can show our love and devotion to God.

The purpose of the tabernacle is that God would dwell in the midst of His people (v8). This was God’s great passion in making this world and His great purpose in salvation. God wants to live among and share the lives of His people. Think about this today and may it encourage you to give more time to engage with the living God who walks among us.

The tabernacle, this wonderful place of worship was not something to be made by man’s design or imagination but according to the pattern given by God (v9). This reminds us that our church, our worship and our daily lives need to be built on God’s desired pattern and not our own in order to enjoy His fellowship.
