Apologies, but we couldn't display this passage from ESV.org. Please read Psalm 110-111
Teaching by Rev. William Moody
Psalm 110 is a great coronation Psalm. It might have had initial reference to David but it is clearly also prophetic pointing forward to Jesus.
In verse one the LORD (Jehovah) says to David’s Lord (Jesus), “Sit at my right hand”. This is a Psalm about the coronation of Jesus after He ascended to heaven. From there Jesus rules until all His enemies are defeated (v2).
The servants of Christ will be ready people (v3), ready for the spiritual battle. In the end when Jesus returns the full evidence of His rule and victory will be revealed.
At the right-hand Jesus is a great priest-king in the order of Melchizedek who was a mysterious priest-king who appeared to Abraham. As a priest-king, Jesus both rules and intercedes for His people.
The victory of Jesus one day will be completed (v5-7), when every knee shall bow and every tongue confess Him as Lord (Phil. 2 v10-11).
Is that a day you look forward to and rejoice in because you love Christ, or is it a day you dread as you still resist Jesus?
