Apologies, but we couldn't display this passage from ESV.org. Please read Psalm 102
Teaching by Rev. William Moody
This is a Psalm which is really a cry of faith for someone going through very difficult days. The Psalmist’s great desire is that the Lord hears Him and does hide from him at this difficult time (v1-2).
The suffering of the Psalmist is a mixture of physical, mental and spiritual pain (v3-11). We are body, mind and soul, and each part of us is impacted by the others and therefore often the answer to our problems has to be a solution for our body, mind and soul. This needs to be reminded because often there are solutions for problems of the body and the mind, but seldom help for the soul is looked for given.
In the midst of these difficult days the Psalmist is still able to worship and remember His goodness to his people (v12-17). This statement of praise is a statement of faith which makes all the difference in very dark days.
The Psalmist wonderfully wants what he says to be recorded so that future generations will praise the Lord (v18-22). This is someone who truly has come to know and to love the Lord.
The Psalmist finds hope when in his weakness (v23-24), he focuses on the greatness of God and his eternal nature (v25-28).
