Apologies, but we couldn't display this passage from ESV.org. Please read Psalm 108-109

Teaching by Rev. William Moody

In Psalm 108 David is full of praise and expresses a great determination to be steadfast in his praise of the Lord (v1-3). In our lives we need a similar determination. Due to the influence of sin within us, praise doesn’t always come naturally and needs to be worked at.

The motivation for David’s praise is this reoccurring theme in the Psalms of the steadfast love of the Lord (v4). David throughout his life as witnessed the faithfulness of the Lord and this leads to a life of praise (v5).

David in this Psalm is also interceding for his people (v6). God has promised victory for his people in different regions and over different people listed here (v7-9).

Something has happened so that David has felt the presence of the Lord in battle and so he seeks it again as he realises God’s presence is their only hope (v10-13). We need to be very careful in life not to be relying on our efforts, or skill or strength but on the Lord for blessing.
