Apologies, but we couldn't display this passage from ESV.org. Please read Genesis 6
Teaching by Rev. William Moody
It is only by the favour of God that Noah stood out as righteous in ungodly days (v8-9). The result of Adam’s sin has so spread that there is now a world of great corruption (v11-12). This speaks of a rotten world which has become perverted from God’s intended path.
God’s judgment is falling (v13) but God is going to have mercy on those who belong to Him (v14). This is the constant story of this world, God’s judgment falling on most people but also salvation coming to some at the same time.
The means of salvation will be through the ark and God lays down in great detail how this is to be built (v14-16). God’s means of salvation is led down by God and not something we make up according to our own imagination.
God’s salvation is through covenant (v14), which is about God’s commitment to save and keep His people, according to His gracious promises.
Like Noah, our only hope of salvation from sin and God’s judgment for it, is to hold unto God’s wonderful promises through faith.
