Apologies, but we couldn't display this passage from ESV.org. Please read Proverbs 10

Teaching by Rev. William Moody

Having dealt with the importance of wisdom the book now turns to consider many different proverbs.

Many of these Proverbs speak of how the righteous will know blessing while the wicked and foolish will experience suffering (v3, 6, 24, 25, 30-31).

There is a strong emphasis here on the importance of being diligent and not a lazy sluggard (v4, 5, 26).

There is a contrast between the impact of the righteous and the wicked on the lives of others (v11, 12, 21)

There is a contrast between the lips and speech of the righteous and wise in contrast to the wicked and foolish (v8, 10, 11, 13, 14, 18-21, 31-32). Take time to read these verses and consider what is the impact of your tongue.

We need to ask are we like the righteous whose mouth is a fountain of life (v11), bringing blessing to those we come in contact with day by day. Are we filled with love (v12), growing in knowledge (v14), fearing God (v27) and filled with hope that brings joy to others (v28).
