Apologies, but we couldn't display this passage from ESV.org. Please read Genesis 44

Teaching by Rev. William Moody

Joseph sets a trap for his brothers by returning their silver and by putting his cup in Benjamin’s sack (v1-2). They leave but are then caught up with by Joseph’s men looking for his cup (v3-10).

The cup is found in Benjamin’s sack (v11-13). The brothers are brought back to Joseph and they throw themselves at his feet seeking mercy (v14-16).

Joseph says that only Benjamin will pay for the theft (v17) and now Judah seeks to intervene (v18-29). There is a great change here from the Judah who suggested for joseph to be sold as a slave. He is now concerned on the impact of losing Benjamin upon his father (v30-32). He is also willing to stay in place of Benjamin (v33-34).

Joseph has been plotting but God has been at work in Judah’s life. He would be leader of the greatest tribe of Israel, the one the Saviour would come from, and God has been moulding and reshaping him for greatness.

Is God moulding and reshaping your life? Remember salvation is just the beginning. You have been saved for holiness. You have been saved for good works which the Lord has prepared for you (Ephesians 2 v10).

Pray about what the Lord wants to prepare you for.
