Apologies, but we couldn't display this passage from ESV.org. Please read Esther 9 v1-10 v3
Teaching by Rev. William Moody
The Jews had victory over those who hated them (9 v1). We must remember that Jesus said that His people will be hated and persecuted (John 15 v20).
As we see the Jews turning the tables and having a great victory (v2), God’s people know victory in Christ who defeated and disarmed the powers of darkness at the cross (Col. 2 v13-15). At the cross, at the moment when the devil thought he had his great victory he suffered his crushing defeat.
At Mordecai’s decree there was to be great celebration and feasting (9 v20-22). From these events the feast of Purim came (9 v26-28). This was a time to remember the deliverance of God’s people.
Today God’s people have the Lord’s Supper, which while a solemn feast, is also to be a time of celebration of the great deliverance God has brought to His people. God’s people must always remember God’s deliverance.
The book of Esther ends (10 v1-3) with a sense of peace and security for God’s people. A book which doesn’t mention God’s name has God active on every page. This is the great unseen God who we can trust fully with our salvation and lives. Inour trials we need to focus on this glorious unseen God..
