Apologies, but we couldn't display this passage from ESV.org. Please read Exodus 12
Teaching by Rev. William Moody
The blood of the lamb was placed on the posts and lintels of the doors (v7). Here we have a clear picture of salvation; it is through sheltering under the blood of Jesus’ sacrifice for sin (see v12-13).
Paul speaks of how Christ’s blood is a propitiation (Romans 3 v25) which means it propels away God’s wrath for sin.
The roasting of the lamb and the bitter herbs speaks of Christ’s suffering (v8-9). The unleavened bread (without yeast) speaks of Jesus’ life without sin.
All has to be eaten or burned (v10) which speaks of how in giving Himself as Saviour it would be a total sacrifice, Jesus would hold nothing back.
The people are to eat the Passover in haste, dressed and ready to go (v11), as those heading to a new land, to a better place.
Salvation is not the end but rather the beginning of a new life in Christ. Experiencing salvation means the start of a pilgrimage and we must have a pilgrim’s mind-set.
