Apologies, but we couldn't display this passage from ESV.org. Please read Ezekiel 38

Teaching by Rev. William Moody

Having spoken of the restoration of the people of israel to be a faithful people of God (ch. 37), the focus of the Lord’s word is a terrible attack on God’s people led by Gog, the King of Magog (v2). These great hoardes are driven on to seek to conquer and destroy and they see Israel as easy prey (v11-12). Evil foolishly thinks it can without any difficulty destroy the people of God. Evil sees itself as its own master and the master of its own destiny.

We’re given an insight into when this battle will take place when the Lord speaks of the ‘latter days’ (v16). In Revelation 20 v7-10, Gog and Magog are mentioned in the fianl great battle between good and evil. So what we have in chapters 38-39 is a representation of the final great battle in Satan’s rebellion against God.

The great problem for evil, is that in this atatck against the people of God, it encounters the ‘blazing wrath’ of God (v19). There will be a great earthquake, the mountains, the cliffs and every wall shall fall (v20). The sword of the lord will be against Gog (21), pestilence, bloodshed, torrential rains, hailstones, fire and sulphur will be unleashed against Gog and his hordes (v22). In all this, the greatness and holiness of God will be made known (v23), then they will see the Lord in His true divine majesty.
